I used to think of competitive gaming as something limited to MOBAs, first-person shooters, real-time strategy games, and fighting games. But it turns out any game can become the basis for a competition. If it gives out a score, then it becomes a high score race. If it’s not a scorechaser, then players can outdo each other with speedruns, perfect runs, or lay out specific completion conditions.
