After a lot of research and hands-on play, I’ve formed the opinion that Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 Full Burst is the best Naruto game that CyberConnect2 has made yet, and that probably won’t change until the release of Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4, said to be the last game in the series.
It offers the following features in spades:
- A Story Mode so beguiling that I’d recommend that Naruto manga fans just skip the anime and sink their teeth into the game instead. A well-adjusted difficulty, minimal filler scenes, interesting variations between the respective storylines, and glorious animation means you can interactively experience the Naruto universe in the best way possible.
- Easy-to-comprehend control scheme that lowers the barrier of entry for people new to the fighting game genre.
- Lots of unique and/or interesting game mechanics (e.g. Combo Cancels, 3D Evasion, Air Blocking, Kawarimi, Parrying, Guard Breaks, Ringouts, Support Calls, Adversity Awakenings, Instant Awakenings, Ultimates, Team Ultimates, etc.) will ensure that serious fight fans will constantly uncover new tech for this game).
- With such a large cast of characters to choose from (81 playable characters and 7 support characters), you’ll have no trouble finding favorites – and pet peeves! (^_^)
